Emily Goldberg Housemaster, Forbes-Craig Apartments
The 2015-2016 academic year is Emily’s first as the Forbes-Craig Housemaster. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in April of 2015 with a Bachelor of Philosophy (BPhil) degree in Communication Science and an American Sign Language certificate. Emily is continuing her education at the University of Pittsburgh by pursuing a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology.
Emily’s involvement in the Honors College began in the fall of 2013, when she started to pursue a BPhil degree. Outside of the classroom, Emily became very involved on campus. She spent three years as a Resident Assistant at Pitt, and in her last year as a Resident Assistant she worked as a Program Coordinator where she was seen as the head RA on staff. Emily’s positive experience with the Honors College combined with her passion for residence life inspired her to continue her involvement in both departments by serving as the Forbes-Craig Housemaster for the 2015-2016 year.
As Housemaster, Emily resides in Forbes-Craig and serves as a resource, mentor, and friend to the students in the Forbes-Craig community. She organizes and facilitates value-added programs that are linked to the University Honors College and promotes social interaction between residents. Emily also assists students by answering questions regarding the University Honors College, communicates campus initiatives to Forbes-Craig residents, and serves as a resource and guide for the Forbes-Craig community. One responsibility that Emily is looking forward to is planning the annual Honors College Thanksgiving Dinner along with a committee of students. Emily is excited for a wonderful year in Forbes-Craig!
In Emily’s free time, she loves to bake cupcakes! Emily is a huge “foodie,” and is always up for exploring the diverse range of restaurants that Pittsburgh has to offer. She is chatty, and loves to strike up a conversation with anyone who is willing to engage! Emily loves to help others in any way that she can, and hopes to make this year in Forbes-Craig the best yet.
