Biography

As the Manager of Honors Housing since 2015, Greg oversees all Honors Housing community initiatives, including housing placements, administration, marketing, programming, and serving as a liaison for the UHC to other stakeholders in Residence Life and Housing. Additionally, Greg oversees the UHC Programming Grant and UHC Mentor Program.

A native of Bethel Park, PA, Greg had spent the decade prior to coming to Pitt progressively moving west, with time spent in Ohio, Indiana, and Missouri. Had he not returned to Pittsburgh, he reasons that he would have hit California by 2030. After completing his MA at Bowling Green State University, Greg held a number of positions within student affairs. His experiences include residence life, fraternity and sorority life, academic advising, student programming, and (most recently) new student orientation programs.

Greg thoroughly enjoys reading and researching several topics related to higher education. These include the political environment of higher education, the economic role of colleges and universities, new developments in orientation and first-year experience programs, and demographic changes within the macro-educational context.  In the future, he hopes to use this information in a role that shapes higher education policy at the state or national level. He currently serves on the American College Personnel Association's Directorate for Admissions, Orientation, and the First-Year Experience.

Greg lives in Scott Township with his wife (Megan), son (Garrett), and yorkie poo (MacKenzie). He loves cooking and hopes to perfect his own BBQ sauce one day. He's also a big fan of reading comic books, cheering the Pittsburgh Penguins, taking road trips across the US and Canada, visiting local breweries, and listening to classic rock. If you're a fan of any of these topics, don't hesitate to stop by for a great conversation.
