G. Alec Stewart Endowed Student Research Fund
The G. Alec Stewart Endowed Student Research Fund provides financial support to undergraduate students actively engaged with the University Honors College who are completing research projects. This can be an independent research endeavor, a continuation of Brackenridge or Community Based Research projects, or the completion of research towards the Bachelor of Philosophy degree.
Who should apply?
Intellectually curious undergraduate students who are excelling academically at the University of Pittsburgh, involved with the University Honors College, and who completing an independent research project. Students who apply need to provide a research abstract with their application and be working with a faculty mentor who can write a letter of recommendation for the award application.
About the Fund
The G. Alec Stewart Endowed Student Research Fund was established by students, alumni, and friends of the University Honors College after the passing of founding dean, Dr. G. Alec “Doc” Stewart in 2010. Doc’s vision, legacy, and insatiable appetite for learning live on through the University Honors College and the funds established in his memory.
