Conference travel awards

Get up to $500 to present your research, paper, or creative work at conferences.

Conference appearances give you the opportunity to share your findings, develop professionally, and receive important feedback on your work.


These awards are open until the annual budget is exhausted. You may receive the Pitt Honors travel award only once during your undergraduate career.

Who may apply

Undergraduate students who were invited to present at a conference. You must also be registered full-time during the term the award is granted. Preference is given to applicants with a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

How to apply

Application materials are due by at least 1 month before the conference. Pitt Honors will evaluate the applications, and all applicants will be notified within 3 weeks of the application submission date.

  • Upload a Faculty Letter of Support - This letter typically comes from your faculty mentor. It should convey the importance of the conference to your undergraduate career and research.
  • Upload a copy of your invitation to present.
