Jarrod Lovelace

Manager of Recruitment

Jarrod started at the University of Pittsburgh in September 2022 in the newly created 50/50 role of manager of recruitment for the Frederick Honors College. He works co-operationally with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Frederick Honors College to provide up-to-date information sharing and program coordinating. Additionally, Jarrod’s responsibilities include prospective student outreach, working with student ambassadors, traveling to schools to talk to high school students in the Pittsburgh region and serving as a primary point of contact for any incoming and current students at Pitt who are interested in applying to the Frederick Honors College.  

Jarrod graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree from Clarion University (now Penn West Clarion). He worked in the professional world for 4 years before going back to school and earning a master's degree in teaching from Chatham University. He was a teacher of social studies and history and co-taught a collaborative class for 6 years in Allegheny County. 

During his personal time, Jarrod enjoys reading, listening to, or watching historically accurate books and films. He can be found exploring anime, manga, and the Marvel Universe. He is an avid PC and console gamer. Jarrod enjoys cooking, spending quality time with his parents and volunteering as a coach for local collegiate and high school rugby programs in Western Pennsylvania. You may also find him at the symphony orchestra and local sporting, performing arts and theatre events with his “ride or die,” Jillian.
