- Amgen Scholars US Program

The Amgen Scholars US Program is an undergraduate summer research program in science and biotechnology with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on research experience at some of the nation’s leading educational institutions.
- Boren Awards

Multiple countries, language-intensive study abroad. The Boren Award grants up to $20,000/year to study in countries critical to U.S. interests and security. Requires a 1-year federal government service commitment after graduation. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Critical Language Scholarship for Intensive Summer Institutes

Multiple countries, immersive language study abroad. There are programs for beginning, intermediate, or advanced level language training in countries speaking any of 13 languages that are critical to national security. U.S. citizenship required.
- DAAD RISE: Research Internship in Science and Engineering

DAAD RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. No German language skills required (see the full range of eligibility requirements on the website). Because this award is very competitive, we suggest you begin the application process early.
- Department of Energy Scholars Program

The Department of Energy (DOE) Scholars Program offers summer internships to undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students in the fields of engineering; physical sciences; environmental sciences; computer science and information technology; physics; business; policy; program management; mathematics; statistics; safety and health; accounting and finance; law; communications; and other related areas. U.S. citizenship required.
- Fulbright US-UK Summer Institute

UK academic and cultural summer program for US undergraduates, with at least two years of undergraduate study left to complete. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Gilman International Scholarship

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship offers funding for study abroad for students receiving a Federal Pell Grant. Priority is given to students applying to study in regions outside of Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Deadlines vary.
- Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program

The PPIA Fellowship Program helps students achieve a master’s or joint degree, typically in public policy, public administration, international affairs or a related field. PPIA fellows participate in a Junior Summer Institute (JSI), where they are equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in graduate school and in public service careers. PPIA alumni can also receive financial support for their graduate school education if they attend one of the programs in PPIA's Graduate School Consortium.
- Summer Arabic Language and Media (SALAM) Program

This fully funded intensive Arabic language scholarship program is held at the Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-native Speakers in Manah, Oman. Applicants must have completed four semesters of university-level Arabic coursework before embarking on the program. U.S. citizenship is required.
- ThinkSwiss Scholarships

ThinkSwiss Scholarships support U.S. students to get a research experience or to participate in a summer school course in Switzerland.
- WAVE Fellows

The WAVE Fellows program supports undergraduates intent on pursuing a PhD to conduct a summer research project at the California Institute of Technology. The program is extended, but not limited, to underrepresented minorities, women, first-generation college students, geographically underrepresented students, educationally and financially disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
